BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — A court has issued a warrant for the arrest of a Thai man suspected in the death of a female Swedish tourist.

Niran Gallayanamit, governor of the popular tourist island of Phuket, identified the suspect Tuesday as 32-year-old Akaradej Tankae, who does odd jobs in the area.

Swedish tourist Hanna Charlotta Backlund, 27, was stabbed to death Saturday while taking a walk on Mai Khao beach on the northern tip of Phuket.

Niran said the man was believed to have acted alone and to be no longer on Phuket.

Authorities have also offered a reward of 100,000 baht ($3,200; 2,030) for information leading to the arrest, Niran said.
