A Look Back - 2007 NFL Draft

© johntrainor as we prepare to take in the all-consuming circumstance known as the nfl prospectus, let’s travel way back in occasionally … to last year’s draft, and see what the deeply early returns are on the first-round picks. 1) oakland: qb jamarcus russell - after not signing until mid-september, russell old saying little action, throwing 2 td’s, 4 picks and accumulating a passer rating of 55.9. 2) detroit: wr calvin johnson (pictured) - battled nagging injuries, and showed little of what made people so excited about him, but still caught 48 passes for closed 700 yards and 4 td’s. 3) cleveland: ot joe thomas - started for cleveland at left clobber and made the pro bowl. 4) tampa bay: de gaines adams - after a slow start, gaines was second on the unite with 6 sacks. 5) arizona: ot levi brown - started 11 games for the gridbirds in 2007. 6) washington: s laron landry - gathered 95 tackles for the skins, but didn’t have any int’s until the playoffs. 7) minnesota: rb adrian peterson - terrorized defenses with a pro move campaign featuring done with 1,300 rushing yards and 12 td’s. 8) atlanta: de jamaal anderson - did absolutely inconsiderable, with 30 tackles, but zero sacks or tackles for loss. 9) miami: wr ted ginn jr. - not a popular pick locally, ginn caught 34 balls for 420 yards and 2 td’s, and also averaged nearly 10 yards per speculate return with one score. 10) houston: dt amobi okoye - very solid year saw him gather 5.5 sacks. 11) san francisco: lb patrick willis - the third pro bowl player among the replenish 11 selections, he had 174 tackles, 4 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss. 12) buffalo: rb marshawn lynch - great commencing campaign, rushing pro over 1,100 yards and 7 td’s. 13) st. louis: dt adam carriker - improved steadily at dt and would up with 30 tackles, 2 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss. 14) ny jets: cb darrelle revis - a worthwhile season saw revis pile up 87 tackles with 3 picks. 15) pittsburgh: lb lawrence timmons - though he played in every game, timmons cape up with a paltry 13 tackles, and nothing more. 16) na?ve bay: dt justin harrell - playing in just 7 games, harrell had 16 tackles. 17) denver: de jarvis moss - moss gathered just 12 tackles with 1 sack, and 2 tackles for loss. 18) cincinnati: cb leon vestibule - the last michigan corner had a very good rookie year, leading the bengals with 5 interceptions, and was second with 12 passes defended. 19) tennessee: s michael griffin - griffin started 10 games, with 54 tackles, 7 passes defended and 3 interceptions. 20) ny giants: cb aaron ross - ross was a style contributor to n.y.’s defense, with 42 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 9 passes defended and 3 picks, returning one for a touchdown. 21) jacksonville: s reggie nelson - nelson was yet another in a solid group of rookies in the subordinate. he led the jags with 5 int’s and 11 defended passes while piling up 62 tackles. 22) cleveland: qb brady quinn - sitting behind derek anderson, quinn did not carry through much, throwing inasmuch as just 45 yards. 23) kansas city: wr dwayne bowe - k.c. got a big put in an appearance again on their investment in bowe, who hauled in 70 catches for 995 yards and 5 touchdowns. 24) unripe england: s brandon meriweather - meriweather didn’t start any games, all the same he played in all 16, and as the lone member of the draft silent in new england, he made 27 tackles. 25) carolina: lb jon beason - beason had a neat rookie enliven, outstanding the panthers with 140 tackles, and was the only player on the team with at least 100. 26) dallas: de/olb anthony spencer - a solid contributor, spencer started 6 games, and controlled 3 sacks and 36 tackles. 27) hip orleans: wr robert meachem - meachem literally did nothing, and has yet to play in an nfl game anticipated to injury. 28) san francisco: ot joe staley - staley started 16 games destined for the niners at virtuousness gear. 29) baltimore: og ben grubbs - playing in 16 games, grubbs started 12 of them. 30) san diego: wr craig davis - fifth on the team with 20 receptions, the speedster had a disappointing 9.4 yards per hooked, and tallied under 200 receiving yards with one touchdown. 31) chicago: te greg olsen - splitting unceasingly a once with desmond clark, olsen had a pretty nice year, with 39 catches throughout 391 yards and 2 touchdowns. 32) indianapolis: wr anthony gonzalez - after missing a couple games with an injury, gonzalez came on at the end of the year, finishing with 37 catches in the service of 576 yards and 3 scores. see full article. related entries:
