seasonal readers (and raving fans) know that i spoke at the american marketing association’s mplanet 2009 colloquium this week. i didn’t fool the chance to catch too many of the sessions, but i did be a member of in on the keynote by american get across cmo john hayes.

At the end of his talk, John laid out a set of guidelines for building your brand during tough economic times. You might think of them as American Express’ own core marketing tenets, but John presented them as part of his advice for marketers looking to thrive amidst uncertainty.Need some marketing inspiration to keep you pointed in the right direction in 2009? I’m sitting at the RAC, trying to transcribe Greg Schiano’s Signing Day press conference as St. Joe’s of Metuchen and J.P. Stevens ready for the first of the night’s two games. (St. Patrick’s and St. Benedict’s have the second game. This one could be more competitive than anything I’ve seen at the RAC lately. But I digress…)

There were no major surprises in Greg’s remarks: 22 letters of intent, only one comprar levitra from a player who de-committed (Malcolm Bush), none from Justin Brown (he picked Penn State after all) and a “not right now” on whether any more are imminent on the Hale Center fax machine.
