Mumbai Attack Aftermath Detailed, Tweet by Tweet

First-hand accounts of the deadly Mumbai attacks are pouring in on Twitter, Flickr, and other social media.

Twitter has fresh news every few seconds, on Mumbai, Bombay, #Mumbai, and @BreakingNewz.

“Hospital update. Shots still being fired. Also Metro cinema next door,” tweets mumbaiattack. “Blood needed at JJ hospital,” adds aeropolowoman, supplying the numbers for the blood bank.

A Google map of the attacks has already been set up. So has a shockingly-current Wikipedia page, which features a picture of one of the gun-toting attackers.

The local bloggers at Metblogs Mumbai have new updates every couple of minutes. So do the folks at GroundReport. Dozens of videos have been uploaded to YouTube. But the most remarkable citizen journalism may be coming from “Vinu,” who is posting a stream of harrowing post-attack pictures to Flickr.

Happy Thanksgiving! Love, Beanstockd

As Thanksgiving approaches, we wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on the past few months and offer a few words of thanks.

This past August, after winning the MTV-Knight Foundation Young Creators Award, appearing in Entrepreneur Magazine, and participating in the summer-long DreamIT Ventures incubator program, Beanstockd relocated to New York City. Since the move to the Big Apple, we brought on 5 new staff members including three interns, a PR Director and an SEO Website Marketing acheter cialis director. These are some of the most hard-working staffers we’ve ever had, and it’s been great having so much fresh energy on the project. We’ve also recruited a wonderful new NYC-based writer who will be heading up our music event coverage and artist interviews.

This October marked our first return to Harvard, where Beanstockd was born, for the Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business Conference where Sandra and I were invited to speak on behalf of Beanstockd. It was a wonderful experience meeting aspiring young entrepreneurs and speaking with them about the process of building our organization. As an added perk, while we were there we met Bobbi Brown! Look for an upcoming feature on green initiatives at Bobbi Brown Cosmetics.

This month, as you may have read, Beanstockd was named one of 35 finalists for the 2009 WeMedia Game Changers awards. Other finalists include Twitter, Digg, NPR, BlogHer and The Huffington Post, and we are flattered to be in such great company. They included a nice little write-up on us as well. Please vote while you’re there - it takes under 5 seconds, and one award will be decided by community choice!

Finally, as we reflect on the past few months, we must say thanks again to all our mentors, advisors, and supporters that have helped make Beanstockd so successful over the past (almost) year and a half. In particular, everyone at DreamIt Ventures, our mentor from The Musser Group, our two amazing lawyers at Ballard Spahr, Paul Bottino at Harvard TECH, everyone at the Harvard Green Initiative, and of course, The Knight Foundation, just to name a few.

Thanksgiving Day

thanksgiving is a tradition that has been observed for the days beyond recall 400 years. typically celebrated on the fourth thursday of november, the day has unspecifically become a national secular holiday with religious origins. thanksgiving day, is a harvest red-letter day. traditionally, it is a time to give thanks for the pick and express gratefulness in sweeping. it is a lifetime to celebrate with the family and loved ones. in the synergetic states, there are grub that are traditionally served at thanksgiving meals. to begin and foremost, baked or roasted turkey is usually the featured item on any thanksgiving feast table. “turkey day” refers to thanksgiving light of day. stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sassiness, dulcet corn, other fall vegetables, and pumpkin pie are common at thanksgiving dinner. these primary dishes are native to the americas or were introduced as a new foodstuffs roots to the europeans when they arrived. thanksgiving light of day also marks the start of the holiday season.in line for the occasion, there is sears pre-thanksgiving sale currently on succeeding. i browsed the purlieus and build a digital camera that i like. it is with it priced at $149 after the $50 discount. wow! i just have to have this camera. now! better caper to the put object of the big sale.
